Il patrimonio documentario conservato dal Gruppo Anziani Sclavo

THE COLLECTION OF MEDICAL TOOLS AND THE ARCHIVE FUND OF THE SCLAVO SERUM AND VACCINES INSTITUTE This publication is the completion of a long project between Sclavo Senior Group and the University of Siena aimed to protect and en - hance Sclavo Institute’s historical heritage. These are various types of goods, including medical tools, pharmaceutical drugs, a large archi - val and photographic collection, and various publications. Through the writings and inventories this volume testifies not only the com - mitment undertaken and carried out by both sides but also the ex - tent and characteristics of this heritage which was once saved by some of the Institutes’s former employees’ will, and is now protected as a cultural heritage awaiting its place in a location where it can be valued and made accessible to the public.

Questa pubblicazione è il completamento di un lungo progetto tra il Gruppo Anziani Sclavo e l’Università di Siena teso alla tutela e alla valorizzazione del patrimonio storico dell’Istituto Sclavo. Si tratta di beni di diversa natura, che comprendono strumenti, farmaci, un cospicuo fondo archivistico e fotografico e varie pubblicazioni. At - traverso gli scritti e gli inventari questo volume testimonia non solo l’impegno assunto e portato avanti dalle due parti ma anche l’entità e le caratteristiche di tale patrimonio che, salvato per volontà di alcuni ex dipendenti dell’Azienda, va ora tutelato come bene culturale e at - tende una sua collocazione in una sede nella quale possa essere reso fruibile e valorizzato.
