Ultrastructural morphology of the Cryptosporidium mitochondrion-like organelle seen in a transverse section from an excysted sporozoite of C. hominis. The double membrane and electron-dense internal structures are clearly visible. Only one structure is observed in each sporozoite where it is typically located in close proximity to the nucleus.
