This contribution focuses on the idea of empowerment as a useful tool to promote soft and social skills that are central to working in complex and hyper-technological organizations of our times. The incipit of the reflection starts from the observation of a certain simplified and abused use of the term empowerment, which easily lends itself to new and more sophisticated forms of manipulation and exploitation of collaborators. In the first paragraph, we briefly summarize the way in which the technological revolution transforms the framework of useful and necessary competences to organizations, during their evolution. The second paragraph illustrates the concept of empowerment, and its implications, as a tool for organizational development, applied to the management of human resources. In the third paragraph we intend to highlight the file rouge that combines the concepts of life and soft skills and the approaches to personnel management which, focusing on resources and the emotions that act as a driving force for people, pursue empowerment strategies for organizational change and well-being. In the conclusions, we want to dwell on the centrality of the ethical matrix that is the background to every organizational empowerment action to avoid counterproductive anand/orseless applications.
Il presente contributo si sofferma sull’idea di empowerment come strumento utile a promuovere nelle persone soft skills e competenze trasversali ritentute centrali per lavorare nelle organizzazioni complesse e ipertecnologiche dei nostri tempi. L’incipit della riflessione parte dall’osservazione di un certo uso semplificato e abusato del termine empowerment, che facilmente si presta a nuove e più sofisticate forme di manipolazione e sfruttamento dei collaboratori. Nel primo paragrafo si sintetizza brevemente il modo in cui la rivoluzione tecnologica trasforma il quadro di competenze utili e necessarie alle organizzazioni, nel corso della loro evoluzione. Nel secondo paragrafo si illustra il concetto di empowerment, e le sue implicazioni, come strumento di sviluppo organizzativo, applicato alla gestione delle risorse umane. Nel terzo paragrafo si intende evidenziare il file rouge che unisce i concetti di life skills e soft skill e gli approcci alla direzione del personale che, puntando l’attenzione sulle risorse e le emozioni che agiscono come forza motrice per le persone, perseguono strategie di empowement per il cambiamento e il benessere organizzativo. Nelle conclusioni ci si vuole soffermare sulla centralità della matrice etica che fa da sfondo a ogni azione di empowerment organizzativo per evitare applicazioni controproducenti e/o inutili.
