In Italy the “Albergo Diffuso” (AD) represents an important and innovative model of hospitality. It is increasingly becoming an alternative to mass tourism, which afflicts the main city destinations. Against this background, our paper investigates whether and how the new hospitality model of AD may be considered a concrete answer to overtourism issues, focusing particularly on the Italian region of Tuscany. The aim of our empirical paper is to contribute to the debate on new hospitality models and their potential impact in facilitating tourism integration, improving the quality of tourism and tackling overtourism.

Abstract
In Italy the “Albergo Diffuso” (AD) represents an important and innovative model of hospitality. It is increasingly becoming an alternative to mass tourism, which afflicts the main city destinations. Against this background, our paper investigates whether and how the new hospitality model of AD may be considered a concrete answer to overtourism issues, focusing particularly on the Italian region of Tuscany. The aim of our empirical paper is to contribute to the debate on new hospitality models and their potential impact in facilitating tourism integration, improving the quality of tourism and tackling overtourism.File in questo prodotto:
