The surface on which we live has been and continues to be a source, a resource, and a precious asset, but also a tool of domination and terror. Rousseau was right: if someone, to that first man who fenced off a piece of land saying “this is mine”, had shouted “imposter” reasserting that the land belongs to no one, and its fruits are for all, then there would have been fewer crimes, fewer wars, fewer murderers, less misery...
